The Crew

Stroking through the water as the sun sets

The warmth in the air the chill of the splash

I gave up so much but with no regrets

Moments like this will be gone in a flash

My muscles are sore my blisters are still raw

But the pain is overridden by joy

The adrenaline rush leaves me in awe

As all the boats get ready to deploy

The friendships I’ve made help the time fly by

The rhythm of go forward and go back

The colossal shiny boats caught my eye

I almost lose count and and start to lose track

I love this sport for what it gives to me

Strength friendships and a time where I feel free
