Flesh
Being in quarantine taught me a lot of things
Like learning to be comfortable in my own skin
Really finding ways to keep going out on whims
Stay at home orders took away my grin
I learned how to play card games everyday
Like ace of spades, even pulled out go fish
Some evenings we’d drive along freeway
I remember thinking back to my last wish
I was outside, lying beneath the stars
Thinking, when will things go back to normal?
eventually at that point I could see mars
scribbling sorrows bought me a red journal
And now my life is turning back around
Since my flesh and mind kept me safe and sound
