Is It Ok To Let My Cat Sleep In Her Travel Bag?

My cat likes to curl up in her travel bag and sleep. I’ve been letting her do so, as I’m thinking it’ll lessen the traumatic effect of actually traveling in it… (If she’s going to travel, she might be happier doing it in a known and safe place, is my logic…)
Is there a reason why I shouldn’t let her sleep in her bag?

there’s no reason if she enjoys that as a sleeping place to deny her of it. as you said she won’t think anything of a trip in it then.

It’s never bad to let your cat sleep in her carrier. It helps her to realize that the door doesn’t close on her, every time she enters it. She won’t be scared of it, every time it’s brought into a room.
My cat sleeps in hers on occasions. She likes the privacy it gives her.

It’s never bad to let your cat sleep in her carrier. She will get used to it and know that the door wont close on her and she will feel safe. She won’t be scared of her carrier. This gives cats their privacy of feeling. There is no reason why she cant sleep in her bag.

I can’t see a reason, and darn if you aren’t lucky! LOL… one of mine, she’s a bit stupid but I love her… walks right in. The other one, who’s smarter than most humans I know, lol… I have to put her in the bottom of the carrier, have someone hold her, and then put the top on and fasten it, trying not to get her long fur stuck in the process!

    It’s perfectly fine.
A cat’s smarter than smaller animals, like a kitten or rodent playing with stray strings and getting caught up or choking on it.
It’s great that she likes it, and not a hole in the closet or something. :P

If your cat is happy in the travel bag then she is ok, i think you are right to let her as it will be less stressful when she travels. My dog was always happy on his bean bag so i used to take that with me.

I can’t see any reason why she shouldn’t. If she’s comfy, let her. Ours still likes to sleep in his baby bed (he’s 8 yrs old now). It’s one of those you can wash.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with your kitty sleeping in its travel bag. As long as it has a way out and plenty of air, it will be perfectly happy.

no reason that I can think of…let her be, I have two carriers and my cats take turns sleeping in them no harm done I think it makes them feel more secure
