Spyware, basically is software that does not harm your computer. Spyware records various types of sites you visit, in order to be used by the advertisers to send you unwanted pop-ups and emails. Spyware, usually greatly avoided. They have separate executable program, allow them to scan files on your hard disks and the other applications you use. They’ll send the information to the spywares author, then they use this information for advertising and marketing. The worst part is, they even sell this information to other parties.

Adwares, the more legitimate form of freeware, are advertising materials which are packaged into a software or program and are installed automatically once that particular program or software is added into the computer system. Some forms of adware download advertising contents as a particular application is being utilized. Most of the adware programs take the form of spywares that is they track and report user information to the program authors.

Viruses are destructive form of software. They were created to wreck havoc to your computer. Viruses destroy whatever they come in contact to and will initiate self replication and infect as many components of the computer’s operating system or network as possible.

How to protect your computer from Adware, Spyware and the Computer Viruses?

1. It is recommended to regularly update your virus or spyware scanner to ensure that your computer is protected from spyware and viruses in the internet.
2. Do not believe the ads that claim that their products only contain adware, because it maybe spyware in disguised and are just waiting to be deployed for them to gather your information.
3. Learn to setup firewall systems and always block pop-up blockers.
